In other words, if you can`t handle the big gun punch, then go to the 22 rimfires.
If I can`t shoot it, I don`t want it. The wayI look at it is, someone somewhere in time shot it, so if it`s in good condition & function the way it should, then shoot it. Just like WarPig said, "it...
You can say what you like, but someone put a lot of time in that stock. It`s ashame that it wasn`t a sporter stock of some kind.
I have a Turk 03/38 8mm that I cut the barrel to 22" & recrowned it. While resting the forarm on a sand bag & if I do my part, while sighting through the Lyman peep that I put on it, I can put 5 of...
Sounds to me like you need # 11 caps. Those # 10`s aren`t going on far enough & that`s why you need two hits. The first one is seating the cap down further on the nipple & the second hit fires it.
I`m not a BS`er, matching #`s. And now "For the rest of the Story". After I aquired this rifle, I did a lot of research on the 03/38 Turk & was told that they are a dime a dozen, I way over paid...
Hey Failsafe. don`t worry what others say. If you like it shoot it & do it to it. I bought a Turk 03/38 8mm a while back. I over paid for it, but what I liked about it was all matching #`s including...
That`s a very fine looking rifle.
If it say s 300 SAV. Then that`s what it is. If you are still shy about it, then buy a box of ammo & slip one in the chamber. If it goes in & stops were it should, bingo. By the way you did google...
OK, I read this alot, what`s with this copper fouling the barrels. I have a Win. 1917 also. But my main shooter is my Turk 03/38 8mm Mauser. I reload for it using Hornady 170g .323 dia RNSP bullets...
Try E-BAY, there is always 1917 parts on there & stocks also.
I`m looking to buy a Timney trigger for my 03/38 Turk Mauser. The add says to state weather I want a M98FN or M98K trigger. Which one should I get? The only thing I see differant in the photos is the...
I have a 1917 & up to about a year ago, the last time it was shot was 1965 (47 years ago). I ran a bore snake through it & have over 200 rds through it. Got to say a very fine shooter. If it shot...
Hey, I`m from NC in Calabash. Were you located?
That is one nice blue job. That barrel deserves a much nicer stock.
Are you sure it`s been plated & not just polished at some time?
Probaly a Bannermans rifle?
Pictures, we need pictures.
Good shooting for iron sights. Were you resting on something, or off hand?
If no one has bid on an item, you can end it, if someone has already bid, you can`t. If I were you, I`d contact the person & tell him to bid the $2100 & win it, or wait until the auction is finished,...
It always amazeses me at some of the things people do.

What are you going to do with the sporter stock?
Good informatve reading, thanks.
Did you trade them for another gun or something else?
Nice collection. How many of those do you shoot? I see you are from "The Peoples Republic of New Jerseystan". Watch showing off that many rifles, antigun Gov might come looking for you & want to...
