I have an M1 garand with the cmp scout mount and it works just fine.
I shoot left handed so the mounts that mount to the left of the receiver don't work for me.

that looks very much like what I remember the racks we had in our barracks during basic training in 1961 at ft. Leonard Wood mo. looked like?
I use a made in japan tasco custom shop 2-8x pistol scope. works great!
