Update on 30 AUG 21- Sold.
Ran across this scope on a Gun Broker Rifle.
It appears to be a Mk 2 scope with the Mk 2 data barred out, as on an L4a1 scope, and new engravings obscured by the scope bracket.
Seems to read...
T Box#4 Plain Green box.
Quaint job of mending one of the carry handles and some numbers stenciled onto the box ends but not easily read- you could probably convince yourself that it was the...

Paint applied by Interarm has been greatly damaged by the heat.
Interior of the chest is very nice despite the damage to the paint.

The leather attachments which connect the chest to the lid are present but were not connected when the lid was...
T Box#1
A somewhat sad box with interesting barely visible markings and a curious 'modifcation' to the interior label.
Box#6
Interesting box which was painted a bright blue at one point. The Interior is missing the label and one of the wooden restraining portions is cracked in two.
One sticker clearly shows...

This chest seem to be a later production version- the label on the interior lid is dated 1975, all the others say 1971. The foam is also...

Many different stickers and markings.
Chests have arrived.
I'll take a good look at them tomorrow and publish serial numbers as best I can make out and otherwise post photos of interest to the group.
I'll post in depth photos in...
Any idea whether there's any more of the Faris collection in future auctions?
I am only interested in 1 of the 13 chests, the rest need to be sold. I'd really like to find the guys who have the rifles which match these chests.
If I can't find the rifle owners, or the...
Were you at the auction house?

Has anyone seen an example of an REL scope with a C- Broad Arrow stamping on it?
Everything I see is Broad Arrow marked only.
My understanding is that the rifles were issued with the No4 magazine and no Iron Sights.
The units would purchase the iron sights and very often made modifications to the rifles in order to allow...
Have noticed that a number of the T rifles have an 'X' stamp in the wood near the front pad.
I haven't seen any mention of these marks in any of the usual references and wondered if anyone knew...
Thanks.
Roger, based upon what you're saying above the setup below seems implausible....

Have been reading up on the Post WW2 work on converting rifle to the T configuration and how slow it was in comparison to war time production.
What I'm wondering is, whether the Ts being produced...
