    What am I missing,....

    have had no desire for either a AK or SKS.

    Am satisfied with my Carbine & 1991A1.

    Do I need the foreign firearms???

    Have seen still photo's of the "Polar Bears" armed with MN.
    Try contacting the Michigan Historical library/ museum in Lansing, MI.

    Only two-grooves authorized were...

    for substitute standard rifles, e.g.: 1903's & 1917, but high Stadard (HS) made small run of four grooves for 17's (??)

    M1's were specified for four-groove only.

    Replace the magazine catch as excess wear,

    will cause problems. Should have the "underline M" on outward facing surface.

    All mags to have the longest length to the rear of mag body.

    IS this with FMJ or soft-nose ammo, may need to...

    The American Rifleman magazine about the

    early 1980's, had an article about the semi's based on the M14 action.

    These were made at the Springfield Armory, without the leg for the full auto parts and
    dismounted the OP-rod using the M1...

    Sounds like a surplused 1911A1 got..

    "gussied up" by a former owner.

    Remington-Rands were a staple of WWII, not real exceptional.

    Only significance would be if the SN was traced to a well known figure???

    Keep the metal handguard...

    and weld to it a 6" long piece of 5/8"W X 3/15 CRS to it.
    THen use a Weaver 336 scope mount to locate the holes for drilling & tapping a Scout scope mount.

    Inland with stock pouch and two 15 with 12 each of the Win 110HP.
