    Finnish M/39 Bayonet

Morning folks. From what I have read, the Finnishicon M/39 bayonets are quite rare; and when found, quite expensive. What would the going rate of an original example with it's original sheath? Thanks.

    Semper Fi,
    Joe P

When they show up on eBay, the real ones will fetch +/- $250. You have to be really careful, since there are a lot of fakes out there. Some are easy to recognize (blued finish is fake), others are not.

Click "Fakes" and "Finnishicon M39" for info. I think this was written by 'Radom' years ago, but holds true.

Hi Joe P ! You must be careful! Finnishicon bayonets are rare, because their use was not in the mind of the Finns. Only few were marked [SA] and for sure the "blued" are fake. The bayonets were/are used almost only during the parades. A lot of fake is on the market and if you think, here in Europe, you can pay it around 350 Euros you can well understand why you must be careful.
