    Another one de-sporterized (SMLE No1Mk3*)

Just finished de-sporterizing this one. Can't wait to try her at the range; the bore is one of the nicest I have in terms of No1Mk3*.

Commonly known as a dispersal rifle. But 1940 could be a complete BSA. I think they just marked the last two digits upon assembly. (The "B" without the "SA" is the giveaway of it being a late No.1 Mk.III*.)

Well done Lou, right down to the miss-matched stock parts. Dispersal rifles often had used wood even as new and what you did just looks "right" for what it is.

I wish I was that good, the mismatch is an accident!

The finish appears to parkerising. Is it, and is it original?

better then leaving it sporterized imo. I have a rifle bought with hopes of fixing it up, never did sort out what stock parts/screws etc. I needed. Glad to see someone did it.
