    K98 silencer

    Greetings to All.

K98icon are way way out of my area of interest, but here is something that you don't see everyday: A silencer for a K98 sniper rifle. I initially I thought it was a flash suppressor but the person who own this item assure me that it was a silencer. The German had special subsonic ammo and had a range of around 150 meters. This collector has a phenomenal collection of WWII German infantry weapons. None of his items are for sale and he would like to remain private. He has kindly allow me to take some photos of interest to share with others.

    Thumbs up

Well, that makes 4 variations of these. I have seen and handled 3 distintly different K98kicon Schalldampfers and this isn't one of them. Sehr interesant!

    One of many cool stuff

The gentleman who this silencer belongs to has an awesome collection that is worth a few million dollars. This is an area way out of my league. Most collectors would be fortunate to own a top grade complete K98icon sniper rifle; this gentleman has at least 50 of them. About 100 P38's, at least a dozen broom handle Mauser, 30 MP40's, a dozen StG44, a few MG34, at least 5 MG42's, 3 original FG42 ..... you name it and he probably has it. All his stuff are top grade. Absolutely amazing. Took me over a year to be introduced to him and to see his collection. It really is mind blowing to see just some of the stuff he has. I wished I had more time to look at everything. Unfortunately he likes to remain private. If anyone out there has a water cooled M2 .50cal, please let me know. He is looking for one for his collection .... to add to his other 2 M2's.

He's right. It's a very rare model L25 (Arado System) made by Arado Flugzeugwerke GmbH.
