    First Time C&R Holder

Finally got my C&R license after two months since filing application. I will get a packet of info in the mail within 10 days from ATF.

Many of you offered additional suggestions to C&R holders to facilitate its use. For example, one said to make copies of the license and put the original in a safe or security box. Others made reference on how to keep records.

I would appreciate hearing from you, again.

I posted on CSPicon and got one response. I post here on milsurp in hopes of getting other great suggestions.

    Thank you.

    Thomas

Be sure to register your C & R license with the supply houses as you may get a discount on firearms as well as parts & supplies. At least enough to cover your shipping.

Log every gun purchase and sale in a log book. Keep copies of every transaction that involves your C&R. And lastly, get very upset at these sellers who refuses to send legitimate C&R weapons to California! Oh, are you in California?

    ...

You are required to log every C & R eligible firearm regardless if you "used" your licence to acquire it. Folks may tell you otherwise, but they are flying "neeked", 'cause the book is clear on this. You don't log guns in that you owned prior to licence, but you must log them out. Say "owned prior to licence" in the acquired from box. Don't put any non- 03 guns in your log!
Keep a separate book if you want, but ATF wants only 03's in the 03 log!
You have one day to log acqusitions and dispositions, 7 days if you bought from an 01, or as they say in the book, "with a printed reciept" or some such verbaige. Do it in one day, so you don't forget.
Keep you original license unsigned. DON"T SIGN YOUR LICENSE!! Sign the copies. I write across the face of the license I send with the name of who it's to, so it is difficult to forge.
Keep a clean book, it's not hard and is a useful tool for collecting, anyway.
Have fun, and don't ever, ever, ever, total what you've spent.....
