    Recoil Spring Housing

Should all M1icon's have one? Mine does not. All parts diagrams I found show housing, spring and guide. I have spring and guide only.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. rocky, if you mean a spring tube, no. Most had the lower right side of the receiver drilled out to hold the spring and guide. HTH.....Frank

Only Quality HMC used the spring tube throughout production. Other manufacturers who used it early on in production went with drilling the deep hole instead.

Here's a tip for rocky and other members ....

If you want to simply Thank another poster, there's a quick way of doing it that saves both thread storage and transmission bandwidth for members in reading threads.

On the narrow bar at the bottom of every post, there's a series of buttons that members can use. One of them says Thanks and has a small hand with a thumb pointing up. Click that icon and you'll be able to thank the member who made that specific post and he'll know by user name who appreciated it.

    Regards,
    Doug
