Just thought I'd finally drop in!

    G'day folks,

Even though I'm an Aussie collector, I've been reading these forums for some time. I figured it was time to say g'day and post some pics of my collection.

I mainly post over at Gunboards, but gain knowledge from all of these forums. I appreciate your input and have spent alot of time reading here.

Anyway, here are my rifles. I've long had a Lee-Enfield interest, and have built up this collection over some years.

I don't yet have a Longbranch No4, but hope to rectify this omission soon!

    The rifles are;

    Pic1
    1889 Lee-Metford MkI*
    1896 Magazine Lee-Enfield 'Long Tom'
    1912 BSA No1 MkIII
1915 Lithgowicon No1 MkIII H (converted to Army Marksman rifle in the early 1930s)
    1917 BSA No1 MkIII*
1920 BSA Siamese Contract 'Smiling Tiger' No1 MkIII*

    Pic2
    1940 Lithgow No1 MkIII
    1941 Lithgow No1 MkIII*
1917-made, 1944-converted Lithgow No1 MkIII HT sniper rifle

    Pic3
    1943 Maltby No4 MkI
    1943 Savage No4 Mk1*
    1953 Fazakerley No4 Mk2
    1945 Fazakerley No5 MkI

    Pic4
    1916 Remington P14
    1943 ar Mauser K98kicon
    1950s Lithgow Model 12 .22

    Cheers,
    Matt

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. And you do some jolly good vids on youtube, too!

I miss your country... I was born there, but my Pom parents dragged me back to Blighty at the tender age of two, then over here to Canadaicon - Me sister has run back to live near Adelaide, and I've been down once to visit: Drove 4000km around south east Oz, and can't wait to get back and see more!

Which corner do you call home?

    Cheers,

    Neal

    Thanks fellas,

I live in Wagga Wagga, in southern New South Wales. Wagga is the home of the Australianicon Army recruit training centre, and has a long military history.

The collection has increased by one since the above photos were taken, I have added a 1943 Lithgow to the collection. I'm including a couple of pics of the 43 with my 40 for comparison.

    Cheers,
    Matt

    Matt......

...is there no such thing as a quiet corner where a bloke can get some peace?

Just jokin' you mate.... welcome aboard..... For those who recall the pic, Matt had two items in the Lithgowicon Sniper Rifle gathering a few months ago after the booklaunch. The HT (shown in his pic), and the vegemiteicon jar as well (although without a closeup of the serial number I couldn't be sure it was the same Vegemite....) Look for his stuff on YouTube.

vegemiteicon is serial numbered? Is vintage Vegemite worth more if the cap and jar match?
