    6.5X55 Swedish Mauser Wooden Ammo

I have about 140 rounds of what I believe to be 6.5x55 training ammo with red wooden bullets that came with some gun gear I bought from a friend. My Swede doesn't have the screw on protector at the end of the barrel. Is this worth pulling the wood bullet and reloading the brass? Could I re-use the powder? Any insight or comments appreciated.

It would be the excuse I need to pick up some 6.5 Swede dies....

Doug, those are them. But my barrel won't accept the blank firing adapter. Just wondering if the brass and primer can be used or if it's not worth the effort. If not will probably just get rid of them. Thanks for the quick response.

Forget the powder - you have no idea what it is. Furthermore, according to Dana Jones, these blank cartridges were charge with a very fast powder that "will blow up any rifle if used with ordinary 10.1 or 9-gram bullets".

They may also be Berdan-primed, which would make the cases pretty useless.

Give them to friends as curiosities?
