    88 Gew Mauser Bullets...8X57J

Is there any interest in early Gewehr 8X57J .318 bullets? I have a couple hundred. Any idea on value?
    Thanks, Bimmer

I'm sure someone here has a J bore Gew88, but in terms of value, maybe not that high since it's easy to just get a swaging die and size .318's from .323's.

In the USAicon, you should be able to auction them off for $0.30 to $0.40 per projectile. Easy to ship in USA, no powder or primers, just weight. Just like shipping rocks.

    Good luck.

Most Gew 88's have larger .321" - .323" bores. The most common use for .318" bullets these days are for the even milder 8x57R/360 and sometimes the hotter loaded 8x57R in double barrel and single shot rifles. Maybe 8x60R too. But many of these have .323" bores. The hotter 8x57JR is based on the Mauser cartridge but with a rim. The 8x57R/360 is a completely different cartridge and is loaded much milder. A Gew with a .318" bore would be very rare.
