    Stock Markings

    Hi,

I'm a new member and this is my first question.

I recently acquired an IBM M1icon carbine and it has two stock marks i would like help identifying.

The first is a .U. that is just above the pistol grip and the other looks like a JLE inside the oiler/sling hole.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

The U indicates the stock went through a rebuild at Underwood post war. The markings in the sling well is JL-B. Stock was made by Jamestown Lounge Co. for IBM.

Thanks for your reply. Both the barrel and receiver are marked IBM so it is remotely possible that this stock is original?

It is remotely possible but unlikely. No way to know for sure.
