A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Trials rifle scope(s)

I have a '33 dated trials rifle with the following scope numbers on the wrist:
    1829 (barred out)
    3273
It would be great if anybody could help trace either of these scopes

Nothing in my records. I have 1822 and I rebuilt 3273 in 1984!

closest I have to 22746 is 22751 which is mine.

    Is Jawes 316 a Mk1, Mk1A or a Mk3? I have repaired 317 and 319

    WW No32 MkI No.1616

William Watson No32 Mk.I No. 1616 offered on eBay.ca for $2000. and later withdrawn, presumably for private sale. Seller was "grimlock_me_king". Scope in good optical condition reportedly, painted gloss black and with ocular shade fitted.

11 of that 16xx series known to me including 1613, 15 and 21. Including several from the large ex-Indian Army batch. So the thick gloss paint would seem to be the giveaway here. Not sure that many would fall into the 'good optical condition' sphere though. But with optical spares now more available than ever before, a good restoreable proposition
