    Hello from Texas!

Hey guys! This is my introductory thread so I thought I might let everyone know that I have been a gun collector of some sort for over 35 years. The "older" military weapons have always fascinated me so I have gradually added some to my "keeper" list over the years. Like I'm sure most are here...I also am a member of several other gun forums too.

Here are most of the current milsurps in my collection...

    1943 Springfield M1 Garand
    1944 Inland M1 Carbineicon
    1920 Enfield No1 MK III
    1943 Enfield No4 MkI
    1943 Moisin Nagant
    1953 Russianicon SKS (laminated stock)
Mauser C96 "Red Nine" (police marked)
Mauser 41 BYF "Black Widow" Luger

I'm looking forward to learning even more from what appears to be a very knowlegable crowd.

    New Member from Austin, Texas

I have had the disease for quite a while. Started with a Swedishicon Mauser, then a 1903 Springfield, an O3A3, a Savage Mk4, an Eddystone P-14, a Finn Model 39 and 1891 and lately an Arisakaicon Model 38 and a 7.7 short rifle. So this web site has plenty to offer me. Wiley99

    Hows it going.
I found a rusty bayonet in the storage shed at the duplex im renting here in Austin, TX.

After doing some research, I know that its a Yatagan style sword-bayonet with a Quillon on the crosspiece, and the locking screw is slightly forward on the muzzle ring.

All i know about bayonets, I learned in the past hour at my desk at work, so im by no means educated in these respects. I would just like to figure out a bit more about it. I found a post on this site in a google serarch (Unknown Yataghan sword bayonet - keltic0_1s Photo Gallery - Military Surplus Collectors Forums) which looks almost identical to my accidentally inherited treasure. Mine is quite a bit more rusty, and I havent had time to look it over for markings. All I have to go off of is a single picture I took this morning before hastily leaving late for work. Ill post the pic in response to his post if the site allows me to do so. Feel free to conetact or email me if u think u may be able to help me identify my bayonet!

    New Guy On Board

    Hi everyone!
I'm the new guy on board today. I've got a lot of looking around to do so I can see how everything works here. It looks impressive!
I'm a US firearms and military collector at the top of my list, and I'm a shooter too besides being a Machinist/Tool Maker by trade. If it's stamped US, goes bang or has a motor,
    I'm right at home.
