Greetings,
While attempting to find out what I purchased this past weekend, I came across this site. The site looks to be very informative so register I did.
My main interest lies in milsurp. rifles and pistols. I thoroughly enjoy finding sporterized rifles and attempting to restore them to as near original configuration as possible.
The rifle in question is a Longbranch 1943 SN 56L3035. Everything about the gun seems to be correct save for the cut down forend and removal of the front sight guards. I am hoping to find parts to restore the rifle and came across this sight in my initial search. Will probalbly have lots of questions so please bear with me if I post excessively.

Hi Folks, My name is JoeHollinger. I am a new member and hope to participate actively
I live in Eldridge, Missouri, U.S.A. I am retired from Federal Civil Service and from the U.S. Navy. I am a political activist on line working to return the U.S. to a country of the people, for the people and by the people and stop this rush to Socialism under Obama. I have a blog at: iamacitizen.wordpress.com.
I am a new fan of collecting military rifles and pistols from history. My initial interests are the Japanese Arisaka (I have a Type 99 Short Rifle); Chinese, I have an SKS, Russian, I have a Mosin Nagant M91/30, and a Springfield 1873, 45-70, Breach Loading, Calvary Saddle Rifle.
I had a problem with the bolt being stuck half in and half out and I couldn't get it to budge. I found enough helpful information on your Japanese Forum to resolve the problem. That made me quite happy!

Hello from Hillsboro, OR, USA
Hello everybody,
Just joined your ranks and am looking forward to meeting a lot of you. Personal experience: I was one year old when my folks were living near Newport, OR on the Oregon coast. My mom told me one time that a Japanese submarine was spotted a few miles out in the Pacific while I slept in my crib. Since then, one of my favorite parks on the Coast is Ft. Stevens State Park, where there are still concrete bunkers and gun turrets where artillery was aimed west to defend the good ol' USA against Japanese invasion. I grew up in a rural suburb of Portland called Garden Home. Our home was a little house nestled in about 3 acres of fir trees and undergrowth. Needless to say, after WWII was over, I and other kids my age played "army" in those woods and bought as much war surplus gear as our folks would let us. We couldn't have real rifles, so we made our own (with Dad's help) out of boards and dowels. Those were fun times and things were certainly more black and white than today! Now, I collect surplus guns, knives and bayonets. I'm especially fond of Enfield Rifles and have 3 of them in 303 British cal. and an "Ishy" in 7.62X51 cal. My favorite is my Enfield No. 5 Jungle Carbine and I'm curently trying to find information on the Web about how to accurize it. Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have been on Gunboards for a spell. Been shooting military since I bought a Spanish Mauser when I was 14 or so in 1965. Been a terrible addiction ever since. Though not to Spanish Mausers.

I just ordered a stacking swivel and screw for my BSA No1, Mark III SmLE from Springfield Sporters. I too have a bubba'ed No 4, and am thinking about ordering the forend from Sarco.
