A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. New to forum

    Greetings,

New to the forum and just dropping a line to say hi and looking for anyone who has an SMLE peddle scheme rifle. I have a 1918 dated NRF that I have had for many years and would like to correspond with someone to work out some of the markings etc. I have tried trawling different sites but always seem to have more questions than answers.

I will post some pics over the coming days.

    Many thanks,

    Mark.

    Hi Folks,
    Another new member.
I've been involved in various target shooting disciplines for 20 odd years and have just got involved in classic military rifle.
My current rifle is an Enfield No 4 in 7.62 which is a more accurate shooter than I am.

    G'day

    Hello to all.
Another Aussie who has loves P14's! I have 2 Winchesters, one in fairly good condition the one fairly worn but still a rather good shooter, knocks pigs over well. The load I have I would NOT run in a Lee as it would be considered way too hot, but are perfectly safe in my rifles.
Both have bayonets. Would love to source correct rear battle sight (especially a fine adjust one) & volley sight along with a few other bits & pieces. From what I've read so far it seems that it is impossible to get most things for these now especially here in Oz!
The markings on mine have been sanded out before I got them so I guess they've lost a lot of value, I don't know what I can do, but to locate a better Winchester stock etc seems impossible.
    Regards
    93x64mm

    Hi All:

New to the forum. Lifer NRA and CRPA, IDPA Instructor and competitor, CA DOJ instructor. Member of the BoD of the Folsom Shooting Club that manages the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center. Have shot M1icon Garand matches in the past. NRA reloading Instructor and reload and cast bullets for my of my long and short firearms.

I have in my possession from a friend a M1917 Eddystone with a two groove "JA" barrel that I am testing loads for. It's in good condition except the barrel is pitted somewhat. With custom loads of 49 grs. of AA 2520, 168 HPBT match, once fired LC '61 prepped cases, CCI B/R primers I am getting fair accuracy at 100: 1.25", 200: 6" and 8" at 300 yds. after cleaning up the trigger pull, relieving barrel/wood touching.

Hope to buy my own M1917 soon to participate in Military Rifle Silhouette matches in the future.

Noob here. Always looking for good info', and sharing any that I might have, if it's useful.

My toys, well, some of the mil stuff anyway. And then there's the BP - muzzle & cartridge, lever, turn bolt, ISSF air and rimfire. Oh, did I mention pistols?
