    Inland Questions.

    I need some help with an Inland carbine. Could someone tell me if the parts listed below and in the pictures or correct for an Inland Carbine. thanks Larry

    Serial number 62388xx
    Barrel Inland General Motors 9-44
    Barrel band with bayo lug marked KI
    Round bolt marked IO 3
    Trigger group marked N 9
    Hammer marked I-I or H
    Mag release marked M
    Safety marked C around M
    Slide marked PI
    Sight marked L R CO 7160060
    Recoil lug marked DI
    Stock marked P BAP and HI in the oiler cutout
    Hand guard has two rivets on each side marked IO
    Stock mag pouch marked KADIN 1943

    Your carbine went through an arsenal.
    Not sure about the type3 barrel band, it is around transition period.
    Flip safety is not correct, arsenal replacement.
    N9 trigger housing is not correct.
    Bottom of grip is RA-P for Raritan Arsenal.

    According to Riesch's book, Type III barrel bands were not used until serial number 6,300,000. Ruth's book states late '44 and in the 6 Mil range for usage.

    The ten look on the HG is ok. Just not as common. About a quarter of them look that way.

    Is the mag pouch green? The KADIN 1943 is correct but,it is not a stock pouch. It connects to the ammo belt via a snap on the back. Cover the snap with electrical tape as not to scratch the stock. Later versions had 2 straps on the back.
