    Australian AUG

My son received training with the Australianicon AUG recently while participating in field exercises with the Australian Army and the U.S. Marines. He liked the AUG but said that the shooters were instructed to remove the barrel to insure that the weapon was cleared (he burned his fingers doing so). Is this practice only for U.S. Joes or do the Australians do it as a matter of course? He was very impressed with the quality of the Australian troops.

Nope never ever tool the barrel out as part of the range clearing exercise. Only time the barrel is removed is for a field clean or strip down. Can only think the RO wanted the "novices" with the AUS styer to clear the weapon down and show what could be done.

From he pic above I would say Shoal water bay?
