    Interesting carbine thread on WAF

Now here is a link to one of my fav sites, and a new thread there. I'd be interested in what the general thoughts are on this M1A1icon.

At first blush, I would say legit theater made conversion, or whatever. But the combination is ---- well, startling .....

I am not a member of that forum so I can't view the pic. Any way of pulling it and posting here for us? The carbine sounds interesting anyway.

Post war made. Late M1A1icon and has the type 3 rear sight. The stock has been checkered which would not have been done during the war. It was surprising how many gunsmiths after the war in Germanyicon would do or make anything for a couple of packs of smokes.

    Thumbs down

A Dufus Bubba job! Betcha it's way post war 2!
That is a ZF 41 scope for a K98kicon. Totaly unlikely that a GI would have done/had done to his issue Carbine, About as likely as he would have had his issue 45 chrome plated!

    Item # 11

Unfortunately the explanation about the Carbine was cut off at the bottom of the picture. Presented to somebody...?? Maybe another pic would have Item # 11 in entirety.
