45 holster

I picked up a Boyt 45 holter it came from the estate of a local collector. It still has the tie down cord and it appears to be in unissued condition. should I wipe it down peacards on it or just leave it as is

Will you show us some pictures. There are some reproductions floating around. If it is original, I would treat it with pecard antique leather dressing just to keep it looking pristeen. If you start handling the holster, the pecard dressing will protect it from the oils and acids on your hands. Just be warned that the Pecard dressing can darken the holster a bit. Just follow the directions on the container

Put the Pecards on in thin coats by just putting some on your finger and smoothing it in until it will spread no farther. Cover the holster this way and then let the Pecards work. Don't put it in the sun or use heat to speed up the process. When the Pecards is initially put on it will darken the leather some, but when it works in the holster should return to almost the original color. If the holster is extremely dry, the color change may be more, but usually improves the overall color of the leather. Repeat coats if needed.

I am having problems getting more then one pic on a message the stain on the flap is a blue green verdigris the holster was in a box of holster I almost bought a sears 42

I believe your tie-down is a modern boot lace. The original tie-downs were elk hide as shown in the picture.

Thanks for the pictures of your new Holster, It's possible that you could get at least some of the stain off the flap. Before treating the holster with the pecard dressing, take some saddle soap and gently clean the stain and then let it dry on its own. Overall it looks like a nice holster. At a gunshow last weekend I saw a couple that weren't near as nice as yours For Sale for $80.00 each

I do not know what I actually paid for it I got the holster a a 1903 saddle scabbard, marked 43, a garand scabbard marked 42, a 1917 bayonet scabbard 2 1907 slings marked 1918 minus keepers and a WW1 canteen for $345.00

It sounds like you did good to get all that for $345.
I think the holster looks great.
