Linking of Serial Numbers was done several months ago. It can be found at:

    1941 lb

1L25, with matching barrel marked with '42 date. Was probably restocked at a later time as has no serial number on the upper stock so no longer has the low cut wood.

Long Branch s/n new to your list

Hi all, been a long time since I posted and this is my first for Lee Enfield discussion group.
Mine is sporterized so no treasure but thought I would add to your list as I did not see any mention of this range other than in the link (production dates) near the end of this thread.

    No. 4 MK 1 * FTR
    Long Branch
    1945

87L2025 on rec'vr, barrel, trigger band
    87L9893 ?? on bolt handle

I understand this was mfg'd Mar 45 per the link to production dates.
The story I got (for what it's worth) when I bought it from a small town dealer in the 90s was ; part of a "lot" recently found and converted for sporting use. It is in "unfired" condition after sporterizing... If I knew then what I found out later... I would have asked why any "found" lot of Lee Enfields would be so desecrated instead of being auctioned off... anyway, it sits unfired because I don't need to shoot it. I only bought it because it was Canadianicon mfg'd and war production. regards,

    Hi,
I have two Longbranch rifles, one is fully wooded and has just been fitted with a new old stock BSA 56' dated barrel. It's serial number is 24L6886.
It is also stamped on the receiver and bolt with a New Zealandicon Army service number of NZ 31615.

The second rifle is a sporterized Sorrel & Son 'Bush carbine', based on the style of a No5 with a shortened barrel, flash hider and No5 style buttstock. The serial number has been scrubbed and replaced with a new one U 943 on the receiver, the bolt has the new number on the top of the handle as well as the old serial of 5L4315.
