    M1903 with Pederson Device

I've never seen one of these for sale, this is amazing. The "Buy it Now" price is $55,000.00 but it does come with riflen ammo and pouch:

Is it me or is that the wrong stock.....I couldn't see the cut out in the stock from the pics provided (too much shadow). I sure hope for all that money the correct stock would be included!

    JB71,
    Absolutely wrong stock.
Picture #9 shows a 03A3 cut for the rear hand guard ring.

Ya know sometimes I can't see my nose right in front of my face! LOL, I'm spending all this time looking for the cut out in the stock, I didn't even notice it had no grasping grooves!

    Chuck,

The issues with that rifle aside, the real focus is the Pederson device, the rifle is incidental. That auction is better suited for a James Julia type auction, not Gunbroker.

    agree,
the device is neat, however,. 55 grand for just a device in rough shape??
2 years ago, 3 were sold for 10,000.00 by a collector in AZ,
same guy had a few other examples for the 17 and mosin Nagant rifle.
and extra parts, ammo, pouches ect.
i think a nice example or a Mark 1 set up in the same way, may very well fetch that kind of money, even on GB.
a guy can pick up a nice original Mark 1 with correct parts for around 1,200.00
and sell the ones thats on that auction, as a shooter for around 750.00
a wise purchase if one is going to recover 55,000.00 on his investment.

    Chuck,

The problem with a piece such as the Pederson device is that having one and knowing how to sell it are two different things. The Arizona seller sold them highly undervalued in a much better economy than we have today. A James Julia type auction brings in many foreign buyers with lots of cash and that's where many of the big dollar Julia items go.

If I was that seller, the Pederson device and the rifle would go directly to the James Julia auction without hesitation for exposure to a much more wealthier clientele than Gunbroker.

I wish Julia would get it, he's less than 20 miles away so I'd get a chance to check it out first hand.
A few years back I stopped in to preview some USGI small arms there and was talking to a fellow in a 3 piece suit standing behind a table with a big trophy and several guns - Annie Oakleys guns, to be specific. As I stroked the stock of a .30 cal. lever gun I inquired as to what they thought it might bring. I backed away from the table very quickly when told $250,000! It's like a museum there . . .

Does the rifle not look like it has black Greek park?
