    Winchester model 12 trench question

I found a Winchester model 12 trench gun that was owned by a police department. it has the name of the department engraved on the side of the receiver. it is US marked with a mint winchester bayonet. how much does the engraving hurt the price? asking $1900.00

Depends on the department and how well it was done, probably ought not hurt value much as its a legit part of its history, unless the buyer wants "new" weapons that never did anything, or is interested only in a particular time period for their collections. Collecting isn't exactly a logical endevour!
