    OP rod spring

I have a new op rod spring, is there anything I need to do to it before installing it?

I would just oil and install. Unless your rifle has some sort of special feature.

Before installing it use a patch on a cleaning rod and clean the inside of spring channel. Then oil the inside of the channel very lightly. Some Rem oil on the spring will make it happy.

I usually grease my op rod springs. Follows the general rule that if it rotates, oil it; if it slides, grease it.

Grease the first four inches that slide into the Op-rod. Oiled springs are noisey.
