    A Few Garand Questions

    I know little about Garands.
Looking at getting this: It is an SA with a Boyds Stock.
No rust anwhere, bore is shiny.
What should I be looking for ? or asking about it.
What would be a reasonable price ?

Does it have the original barrel? A GI barrel, or a brand new barrel? Are the small parts SA as well? What is the serial number range-2.0mil, 3.0mil 5.0mil, 5.4mil, 5.8mil--and so on. Some ranges have more collector interest. Does it have paper work, like from the CMPicon? Do you know what "grade" it is-like rack grade, field grade, service grade, etc? CMP sells a fully refurbished M-1, with a brand new mfg. barrel, Boyds stock, for $995. And lesser grades from $445-595. Are you primarily a shooter, collector, or both?
