Springfield M1903 Questions

I have recently come across and have a few questions regarding a Springfield M1903. There are a few marking in the gun such as:

US
Springfield
Armory
Model 1903
51387

On the Barrel Just behind the front sight:

SA
10-09
A

Now we have done a little research and what we have come up with on a few select sites is that this is a very early issued model number. (1904) Now the barrel stamp from what we can see was not made until 1909 according to this certain website http://vishooter.home.att.net/SA.txt. It also doesn't seem to have the original stock on it. The stock that is on it now more represents the sporterized look with the cheek pad.
I guess what i am asking is if this gun has any value to it since it is such a low serial number. Or if anybody has any better information for me for what i have in front of me.

It is a low number '03 and is sitting in a sporter stock. It certainly has some collector value as the receiver has not been drilled or tapped. The barrel appears original. I think this rifle started out as a .30-'03 and was not originally a .30-'06 rifle. The original stock would be expensive and restoration would be a long process for most guys.

I guess i am really not looking to restore it, don't have time or patience... any idea on a low end value i could be looking at? Not looking at getting top dollar or drawing out the process just looking to get it a good home if you know what i mean.

We would need a few more detailed pictures, especially of the rear sight area. It is probably worth in the $300 range, if the rifle has been refinished and there are WWII parts (usually marked with an R) or may as much as $500-550 if the finish is original and the parts are original (to the 1909 date range).
