    4 Blade camillus

Am I missing something here? I collect the years I was Viet Nam, and they vary from $30-$50 in mint condition.

But to me, even with the U.S.iconN. this is a $25-$30 knife. This seller seem to get prices higher then any I see. What gives?

    Agreed

Ive been watching his M3's and notice the same thing. He has 2 things going for him. Reputation-People feel safe buying from him and therefore they will pay more. He puts up good pics and gives a real good description. If I buy a knife from him and put it right back on ebay, guaranteed I dont get nearly what he gets.

    A square,

I said I collect my Viet Nam years, which spanned cross over tours in the years 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971.

I also said "This seller seems to get prices higher then any I see."

Then posted a listing from the seller I question who gets such high prices for his items. I put it in the post for others to see what I was questioning.

To me $51 for a 1995 knife is nuts.

    I guess I wasn't being clear enough.

I have had people tell me that Viet Nam is a nice place to vacation now. They must be nuts, I will never go back there.

Here is a picture of a few of my 4 blades.

as stated - no flame intended - often the tone of the post is interpreted by text when that intended was far different , this is one of those cases ,

i did catch that you were collecting that era , my FILs knife was such an item , the last years would have been mine there , thank you for your service ,

that said i also caught your implication on the price and equally curious about why that could command it , does he really get that for those ? incredible ,

lastly , that is a superb collection you have , i noted the same on your other post , very impressive , and thank you for sharing them , sorry if i came off wrong - those that know me know i would not do so ,

I'm new to this forum, but I've been collecting knives (including MIL-K 818's) for a long time, and although this is an old thread, here's my 2 cents: All of the USN,USAF and USMC MIL-Ks made by Camillus were non-issue, commercial offerings. This would seem to bring the price down to knowledgeable military collectors. On the other hand, those made were in comparatively small numbers, making them much rarer in numbers than any US marked ones. How this affects the market one way or the other probably changes constantly, possibly based largely on lack of information and basic desire. Just food for thought...
