    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     I was at a vintage arms dealer and saw a four times version available for about the same price as a real Garandicon. This was last year.

    one was a BAR the other was a .30 caliber M1919 A4. the guy wanted $20,000 but the show said it experts say they're only worth about $2,400

    That is funny. I just recently started watching Pawn Stars and saw that show last night. The oversize rifles are also shown on the training videos listed at the top of the forums page.

    Very few complete ones exist.

    A complete one will have all the ammo, the clips, mags, or ammo belt, the pamphlet, the travel case, the internal stand, several spare parts, and a content listing by the manufacturer.

    One thing to keep in mind. If you buy or sell one, do it locally. The travel cases were never designed for shipping. They were designed to be put in the rear of a truck and delivered to a unit, then returned to the training center.

    If you ship one by common carrier, chances are it will get broken up pretty badly and destroyed.
