Can anyone help with interpreting these codes? I believe the ce inicates manufacture by Sauer ansd Sohn, but what about the 42? Also, several diffrerent markings on the buttstock. I appreciate any in sights you might have.

    Hi lable,

i have a nearly compete list of Germanicon Codes. But the second pic is to small to see anything. Please send it again a bit bigger. The markings on the buttstock are looking like it was an RC ( Russianicon Captured ) rifle, except the German Eagle markings. Until later

    Regards

    Gunner

the eagle over 77 on the buttstock indicates your stock is a Steyr Daimler Puch stock. it's an inspector stamp. the "H" means it was issued to Das Heer (the army).

the star is a Russianicon stamp so it's a Russian capture.

also, if the 42 is below the "ce" on the receiver, it's the year it was made.

Thanks for the replies. This is definitely a Russianicon Capture right down to the electro-pencil markings. The information helps a lot. Bore is in excellent condition and I'm going to purchase it. I'm looking forward to it arriving.
