    Match Prep for M1903A4

Going to be participating in some historic sniper matches--who would be a good smith who can do some match prep for my M1903 while retaining historic nature of the gun?

    Thanks

Buy a Gibbs replica and don't booger up a multi-thousand dollar original that was never "accurized" to begin with.

Or, buy a replacement trigger and sear and carefully stone the surfaces smooth.

There is a guy in Texas who builds match grade 1903's and the trophy guns for the CMPicon National Matches. His name is Eric Pierce. He has a web sight
called "National Match Armory" He is about a half hour SW of Dallas. He also correctly restores 03's, Garands, and M14icon's. He is a exMarine and does excellent work. My son & I shoot all our guns, even the machine guns. No closet queens. Good luck.

I've heard good things about Mark Losok

Military restorations are supposed to be a specialty of his.

    Thanks all

I'm a big believer in shooting everything in the safe--but I take exceptional care with my rifles to keep them in great condition. Thanks for the recommendations. My 1903A4 is going to the 1K line.

BTW--if anyone has a dope card for a 1903A4 with the Hornaday Garandicon load, I'd really appreciate the help.
