A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I'm also looking for my Fathers. Serial number 1933482. He made me memorize it and his USMC serial number (1553576) until I could "earn" my own...lol

Thanks Bill, I have had the CMPicon check their records, Arlington Ord (Navy Arms) also checked theirs in the mid 90's and I even spent an entire day going through Springfield Sporters records (they were ALL recorded in ledger books, nowhere near numerical order...lol). The search continues...

Good luck in your search. Just to give you a glimmer of hope,I read about a guy that wanted to buy his Dad an M1icon for his birthday and found his Dads issue Garand at a local shop so it can happen

CMPicon Forum started a thread about Garandicon Serial Numbers awhile back. I found one that was within 84 of mine, another member found one and bought it for Sequential s/n.

May also want to try the CMP again. This latest shipment was 170K of Garands. Granted, most appear to be post war, but they have all the S/N computerized. May be worth a shot.
