    James River Armory

I'm seeing M1As at several sites from this builder. Anyone ever look over one of their M1As They advertise Criterion chrome line barrels, GI parts and forged receiver for about $2K.

What range is that? They appear to be working out of an industrial park in Lansdown, MD. I'd like to see their products, but haven't seen them at local gun shows, like Fulton Armory.

From what I saw they had some quality rifles. At the range that had rifles in boxes, ready to test fire and then ship to customers.

I bought an 03-A3 from them. New GI 4 groove barrel 43 date, no signs that the receiver was ever from a drill rifle. Bolt looked NOS but it was covered with a fine layer of rust. Butt plate and screws were horrid. I replaced the buttplate with a NOS, replaced most of the screws. Rifle shoots beatifully and is accurate as can be. Overall I love the rifle. I think if they went that little bit extra.

They just built an LRB-based M14icon for me. It was a first class build throughout--all USGI and mostly TRW. They won't do the NM updates.

I don't know about the quality yet. But the receivers are made by 7.62MM Firearms from Ohio. I think they are forged which a major plus. I am skeptical of any GI parts other than a stock. Probably the 7.62mm's parts which are made in the USAicon.
