    Chinese type 54 question

Gents, I have a Type 54 that is odd. The weapon is seemingly without any finish and in the white or with a dull nickel finish with the exception of the rear sight and a couple of internals on the hammer assembly. Upon looking through a 10X loop, the serials show no evidence of sand blasting or other means to re-apply another finish. The date of the weapon is 1966 and factory code 66 (Norinco) and is not a commercial but a bring back at one point. Any ideas and any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bruce.

Could it have been liquid stripped? Guys have visions some times that don't pan out. Never get finished. This could be one of them.

They had a real crappy, thin finish to begin with, might have completely worn off.

there is vietnam bringback on gb. no finish, bright stell, and rust pits where there was finish. to rough for my likes. but it sounds like the blue job wasn't the best to begin with... thogh on the later imports, or even old military pieces that were not exposed to long jungle rains and the like, the bluing can be quite nice. not Colt nice but nice. just not durable...
