Long time a coming, just read about this on NJ Gun Forum
    http://www.njgunforums.com/forums/vi...p?f=19&t=10060
No one seems to have a copy of this NJSP letter, do you have a copy to share?

Here's an email response from Kahr addressing the issue:

We are awaiting final word on it. It may take a while.
The information will be posted on our website when it does become available for sale in NJ.
    Regards,
    Frank Harris

Now if the manufacturer doesn't have final confirmation, whatever you have may not be authentic, perhaps why your friend doesn't want it posted?
    Is it on NJSP letterhead?

Found this tonight although someone is saying this NJSP lieutenant misspoke?

    From: DAVID SCHLUETER
    Subject: Auto Ordnance AOM140
    Date: Friday, August 13, 2010, 11:30 AM

As per our conversation this date, and review on the manufacturer's web
site of the below long gun, be advised that this specific firearm is not
considered an assault firearm by New Jersey statute and Administrative
Code, and thus is lawful for sale in New Jersey.
    AOM140
    Auto-Ordnance M1icon Carbines, Walnut Stock
    MSRP: $899.00
Model: AOM140, Walnut stock and handguard (shipped with 10 round new
    magazine for CA sales)
    Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine: AOM140 (.30 Caliber, 18" barrel)
    “Walnut Stock”
    Specifications: Model AOM140
    Caliber .30 Caliber
    Barrel 18"
    Weight 5.4 lbs
    Length 35 3/4" overall
    Construction Parkerized steel receiver
    Finish Parkerized
Sight Blade front sight, flip style rear sight
    Stock Walnut
    One10 Shot stick (AOM140).
Be further advised that should this firearm be altered by its
manufacturer in such fashion so as to make it subject to New Jersey's
assault firearms law/definition, the firearm would then be unlawful to
    sell/possess in New Jersey.

Interesting stuff. Gunowner groups in California have been actively seeking and finding various legit ways to work around some the ill concieved rules in thier state.
Has any new info surfaced about the New Jersey Carbine situation ?

I see the Auto-Ordnance ad on page 38 of the September, 2010 American Rifleman states "A-O M1icon Carbines are prohibited in NJ."........ NJ residents had until May 31, 1991 to register M1 carbines in their possession. There is a procedure to obtain a permit to purchase an assault weapon such as a M1 carbine. I understand no one has been able to to explain why it would be "in the public interest" to obtain such a weapon in New Jersey.

I heard something about carbines being legal a few months back. Has anyone confirmed?
