Need info on Krag Rifle Trials 1892

I am looking for original documents (preferably an official report) that details the US Army rifle trials in the early 1890s that resulted in the adoption of the Kragicon. I am looking for primary material rather than a write-up by a modern writer.

I have the Reports of the Chief of Ordnance for 1891 and 1893 (1892 seems not to be available), but was there a full report that covered the trials in detail?

I appreciate any leads on this.

    Thanks!

P.S. Does anyone know who runs the Krag forums at Krag Collectors Association My best efforts to register there have failed, and I cannot get any response from the admin.

Sounds like a job for 5MF who has researched a lot of the material from the period you're looking at.

1892. Very expensive. Largest of the reports.

It is a very strange thing that the question was asked when it was. The Chief of Ordnance reports are very hard to find. 1892 is impossible. Yesterday, being Friday, is when you asked. Last Wednesday I faxed in my bids for the Alex Cooper Auction. That auction is today and tomorrow. Guess what one of the lots was? Guess what I won?

Yes indeed, I took 5 of them, to include 1892, for $100.

That auction was unreal. I took a Greene bolt action rifle for $2000. RIA sold one last weekend for $5000. The Brophy+Mallory lot was up when I took the screenshot of the CoO lot. I took those too. The only big lot I was after which I didn't get was a complete set of the SRS. No great loss.

    1892. Along with 4 friends. $100.

    Mwah ha ha ha.
