    Weaver k 2.5 scope info?

I'm in the process of building an 03a4-gery from a bubba-ed A3 I found in a local gunshop. I had just recently bought a Weaver k2.5-c3 and the gunshop find had a Weaver k2.5 60-B already mounted. So now I have two scopes, neither of which I have any info on. I'm fairly certain the 60-B is not factory sealed but I'm not sure about the C-3 especially as it has duplex crosshairs (makes it a later model?). Also I have no idea what the movement per click is. Can anyone enlighten me regarding these two issues?

I'm currently seeking a C stock (likely will get it from Numrich) and the necessary stock metal and I'm really eager to see how the old soldier shoots.
    Thanks,

There is a poster by the name of "demary" on the CMPicon forum who seems to have the inside track on the rules and proposed rules for the CMP sniper matches. If you intend to shoot in those matches you may want o check out your choice of scopes with him.
Essentially the K.2.5 and K3 are approved for A4's but both scopes were made for a long time. Its uquite possible the later one's had better lens coatings etc than the late '40's versions.

    Good luck!

    Regards,

    Jim

I'm pretty sure that "demary" is Dave Emary, the chief ballistician for Hornady, and the person who worked with CMP to develop the "vintage sniper match". I would imagine that he will continue to be the best source for information as the match rules evolve.

Thanks Jim, thats why i'd like to get some info on the scopes I have sitting on the shelf.
The k2.5 appears to be on demary's Ok list for the A4 but I'm trying to stay within the intent of the rules regarding mounts and rings as well. The period appropriate rings appear to be the type that require the scope to be slid in to them. The 60-b, I'm pretty sure, is not factory sealed so taking off the objective lense shouldn't be a problem. The brighter of the two scopes however, is the C3 with the duplex reticles. If this is factory sealed I would have to find more contemporary rings and then hope they would be approved.
Then there is the issue of what the adjustement range is (how many clicks in the scope and how many MOA per click). This might require shims under the front of the base(a procedure that was common in the era) but is something I'd like to avoid if I can.
Hence, the questions at the top:
Does anyone know the MOA per click on these models and are either (or both) factory sealed?

    thanks,

    Art

The latter is sealed, the earlier scope is NOT. The clicks on both are .25 in. @ 100 yds. I have found some of the earlier K2.5's have closer to .5 in. clicks however, you can tell them by the brass colored retaining rings holding in the objective as well as the occular [eyepiece] lens. Hope this helps. Jerry
