    Reising 65 I.D. help

Yesterday i picked up the rifle i bought on an auction site.It was listed as an H&R model150 & that is what is on the barrel. It has ramped front sight & a lyman dovetail filler in the rear sight. The markings on the receiver are what's interesting-Model 65 H&R Reising .22 Cal. It also has Redfield 70 rear sight & bolt hold open button/switch on right side of receiver. Thr stock has 1&1/4 inch sling swivels-takedown screw in front of extended mag well. Serial #R255on left of receiver.Just what do i have here?????

I believe I answered this question on another forum but here goes again.
The H&R Model 65 was a WW11 production rifle for the USMC. However H&R sold the Model 65 to civilians also in the same time frame as selling them to the USMC.
The Model 65 was produced for awhile after the war.
I would say your rifle with a Model 65 reciever and a Model 150 barrel is probaly a transition rifle at the end of production of the Model 65.
Or your Model 65 could have been rebarreled with a Model 150 barrel. But why?
Either way you have a interesting rifle.
