RCBS makes sizing dies for everything. The 7.62x54 rimmed needs full length resizing to ensure fit. I'm not sure why you would reload for this one however, because there's lots of brands of Berdan and steel case ammo that's cheaper.
    Regards, Jim

The Lee 7.62x54R dies do a perfect job for me.

You can get superb accuracy out of those old Mosins, if you hand load for them. I reload because it is as cheap as surplus and I can tailor the load to the rifle. Besides, I use a lot of cast bullets for reloading them too.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

I use the Lee dies for 7.62x54r. You really don't need to worry about full length sizing on that catridge as there's a fair amount of space in the chamber to start with.

Also, don't try to crimp with the Lee dies. Don't really need to for starters and for seconds, you'll likely crunch a few shoulders trying to get it right. The brass is too expensive for that.

You have to watch it on the surplus ammo that's available. A good bit of it is steel jacketed and that will eat up your barrel relatively quickly. That being said, however, the Bulgarian stuff is quite good.

I'll share two loads I use in my 91/30s with good results. Use at your own risk of course!!

Plinker load (good for goof off tin can and small varmint shooting)
    150gr gas-checked lead slug at .311 diameter
15-20gr of IMR Trail Boss. (Say what??)

Seriously, it does work. I use that load for just casual plinking. Have to bump the rear sight up to about the 300 mark since it's low velocity, but you can shoot that all day and not wear yourself out.

    Stinger load

123 Hornady SP jacketed .310 diameter
    50gr IMR 4895

That one gets downrange in a hurry. Near to 3200fps of hurry. Unless you're shooting sabots (which could be interesting) you won't be going much faster.

So far as brass is concerned, right now your best bet is to buy the PRVI commercial and save that brass for reloading. It's quite good. The Winchester brass has gotten extremely difficult to find and expensive. Close to $1 a piece so buy it loaded for about the same (PRVI).

    Hope that's useful!
