    Canadian Govt 1911?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I have been researching my grandfathers Colt 1911 the best I can on the internet but it seems there is some true experts here. I wondered if you could help me with a little history lesson on this particular firearm. It is a Colt 1911 serial number C61535. It has numerous crown icons on barrel at breach, slide and frame. It has two stamps one on slide and frame stating "not English make" and it also says "released Britishicon Govt 1952". On the left side of frame near magazine release is the broad arrow and C. Can't find this on slide. I think this is a commercial Colt govt model made in 1916. I also think it was sent to Canadaicon at some point, then to Britain, then released in 1952.
