    Has anyone got or even seen an illustrated parts list for the L4A3/5 ?

    There was one because we had it in use. It was a Naval issue initially and had a BR number (Book of Reference). Most bits were fully interchangeable with the A2's and 4's but both the non adjusting and fully adjustable bipod was mentioned as were BOTH types of cocking handles with the note 'A/R' for As Required. So presumably you could have both sorts or bipod and the cocking handle depended on whether the body had been modified to take the Mk1 cocking handle. On the A2 and 4 Brens, the adjustable bipod and folding cocking handle were standard

    But not for the L4A3 and L4A5's that were 7.62mm conversions of the Mk2 Bren. As I said, originally, these guns were (in the UKicon....) what we called 'Navy specific', like a line throwing variant of their L1A1 rifle and their equivalent of the EMER bible were called BR's.

    We've got a Navy Armourer working with us for a while re another job. I'll ask him about the A3's and 5's but as I said earlier, the later A5's used to come through our workshops.
