Pre war parts: anyone notice anything different about these drawing numbers on the trigger housing and hammer ?

Right Jim, side marked rev 2 hammers are quite rare, there are only about two or three known. You can look at rev 2 hammers for years and never find a side marked one. Check out the trigger housing for the modification marking

I understand the trigger mech is pre second variation without the -SA. These went from 45000 to 70000? By the way, is the trigger guard the early model without the disassembly hole?

The trigger housing is an early D28290 SA and had the pad reduced in size to accept the rev 6 "round top" safety " during the early rebuild the -1 was hand stamped between the drawing number to indicate the pad modification. The production SA trigger housings were D 28290-1-SA, soon after the trigger housings were just modified and not marked.

Interesting is that Winchester was still making their trigger housings with the large pad while SA was producing the small pad starting with the D 28290-1-SA and modification of the early housings during rebuild. Photo shows a WRA trigger housing with the SA round top safety

The studs were swaged on the trigger guard during rebuild
