    1956 POF No4 MkI

Below are pictures of my newly acquired POFicon No4 MkI.

There is very little info on the POF MkI's and Mk2's, which is why I started tracking serial numbers. To date I have 56 rifles recorded (9 MkI's and 47 Mk2's). Even though I have only collected a small sampling of data, it has given me some good information and a few assumptions:

    No4 MkI
Production was from 1952 to 1957
Serial number prefix letters A and B
1952 production was prefix letter A plus 4 digits
1953 to 1957 was prefix letter B plus 5 digits
Total Production - Not enough info

    No4 Mk2
    Production was 1957 to 1963
Serial number prefix letter C (plus 5 digits)
Total Production - Approx. 60,000 based on info to date (only an assumption)
    Information
