    Early Colt Model 1911 holster

I found this in the back of an old gunshop, it is for the Model 1911. I have seen this type of pancake holster for S&W revolvers around 1912. I would think this holster is around 1920 ?
Note - it could be use on the hip or as a shoulder holster. Any more information ?
