Amazing - Browing guns firing after 70 years underground

that fact that after that they will; be "Made safe" is very upsetting though.

, it's either that or destroy it...they don't allow class three and full auto. I had one of those guns once, and firing it was a roar(literally). The links went out on a straight line to the right and the empties were ejected as violently as a Bren gun. I never really hit much with it but I'm not sure that matters.

The .303 aircraft brownings are impressive guns. I remember seeing one used in the ground role in a certain southern african country - the gun did about 900-1000 rpm, pretty much like an MG42.

We've got one similar that we intend to fire but have ground to a halt at the moment, lacking enthusiasm and other projects. But by heavens, the rate of fire is out of this world

Do you need some parts Peter? I'm pretty sure the RAF will have stuff around. I saved a back plate/buffer and the nut of the end of the jacket from a scrapper about 15 years back.
I also found reference in the LOC to a AA mount which could be used to mount a Browning .303 MG or a Bren. Have you ever heard any mention of this before?
