1914/1920 DWM Juger

Seen over the weekend. Unable to take pictures and now a 1000 miles away. A 1914 DWM luger serial number 941a. Handstamped next to the date is "1920" and "9.4". I read that this is a military weapon converted to police use. Stamped into the unmarked holster and the forward gripstrap is "9./J.R.10.4." The "4." is a smaller font. Any ideas on the unit marking or a place to look for info ?

The 1920 on the chamber is the Reichswehr property mark. So many military weapons had been stolen during and immediately after WWI that a directive was issued to mark all the small arms with a property mark. That mark was 1920. I have no idea what the 9.4 on the chamber is.
The grip strap marking appears to be a Reichswehr Army unit marking. If the pistol is a police pistol, it will have a sear safety.

If I remember correctly, the "9.4" would be the actual bore diameter measurment in mm.

The description described the 9.4 as being stamped next to the date. The bore diameter would be stamped on the bottom of the barrel below the serial number, and would be from 8,1 to 8,5.

Thanks for the replies. The 9.4 is handstamped next to the 1920. I think the unit markings could also have been carried over from the war. There was a 10th Jaeger Regiment in that. The Reichswehr also had a 10th Infantry Regiment. (The I, J, problem). I did not know about sear safeties until just now. The pictures look like it is noticeable. Having owned a 1940/42 for many years, I did not notice any gross differences in this pistol.

The / in the unit marking is the kicker that tells you it's a Weimar era marking. 9./J.R.10.4. = 9th Kompagnie , Jnfanterie Regiment 10 , Waffe 4. The Imperial marking would be 10JR.9.4. I'm kinda rusty on my Imperial unit markings but I believe Jaegers were organized by battalions , mounted Jaegers (Jaeger zu Pferde) by regiment.
