I ask about geography, because we pick up cheap 30.06 military surplus here in Ontario all the time at gun shows. There's always one or two guys with tables selling bulk, or even in ammo tins with enblocs for Garands.
Isn't there a dealer out in BC called CanAm or something like that, who sells ammo?
The other source is Districorps in Quebec, but I'm not sure about their prices.

I've not seen any surplus 30/06 at a New Brunswick or Nova Scotia gun show for at least ten years. If I want cheap jacketed 30/06 I end up buying odd boxes of hunting ammo at gun shows, or ammo on clearance at places like Home Hardware or Wal-Mart.

Bell, S&B and UMC all make a 147gr FMJ round. It's cheaper than hunting ammo, but more expensive than surplus. Might be worth a look.
