No4 Mk1
Need Help! I just got this gun and i would like to find out a little about it! Like where it was made! And how much it might be worth! It says 1944 M47c No4 Mk1 the serial number starts with a D and it also has FR stamped on the butt of the gun! Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

A D.... number from 1944 would be Fazakerley. But M47c was the component manufacturer's code for BSA Shirley. Shirley was using D..... numbers in 1942. Or maybe my info is out of date (quite possible).

Hello silverbullet. Welcome to the site!
If you'll post some photos, the experts here can give you a fair assessment of your rifle. Correct, original configuration and the condition mean a huge difference in collector value, and photos can tell volumes - something you don't see as important or don't even know about can instantly show up in photos. Small details can often mean the difference in hundreds of dollars.
Below are links to the two means of posting photos. They were put together by using screen prints to make them easy to follow. At the bottom of each set of directions there's also a .pdf you can open and it has the same instructions so you can print them out to keep beside your computer until you're familiar if you need them.
How do I show pics from Photobucket, Flickr, ImageShack etc. on milsurps.com?
How do I upload pictures to my posts for storage on milsurps.com?
Looking forward to seeing photos and your participation here. This is a very friendly site with some of the most helpful and knowledgeable members anywhere on the internet.
