    P14 rifling

Is the rifling on a P14 the same as that in a No.1 or No.4? I have a P14 which really looks to be unfired in terms of the amount of cosmolineicon on it, specifically on the feed ramps, in the action etc, the unmarked condition of the follower, locking lugs and barrel etc, but while the bore is shiny, unblemished, and the rifling extremely sharp, it doesn't seem as deep as that on my other Enfields.

Sound like your P14 has a worn but well maintained bore, or else just needs a good scrubbing. I saw an all matching1891 Argentineicon carbine once that hardly had any rifling left but the bore shined like a mirror with no blemishes, just shot out. P14's have the standard 5 groove lefthand twist Enfield rifling like the No.1 or No.4.

What do you get with an inverted bullet in the bore? Still newish? It sounds like a great find. I've just had a chance to shoot my P14 acquired 2 months ago and I'm liking it a great deal, nice to shoot, different from the smle in interesting ways, a keeper for sure. Its a winchester and been a target rifle,, ball burnished barrel too.

Haven't tried that but I think it unlikely that it's been fired since refurbishment. Will get it to the range in the next couple of weeks and then we'll see.
