Ithaca 1943 Lend Lease
Hi guys, I am owning a nice M1911A1 Ithaca 1943 serial 1215xxx. Its a Lend Lease pistol supplied to Soviet
Union. Can anybody tell me any info about shipment details? Thanks, George

Please show us some up close, detailed pictures of the pistol and all the markings.

Usual marking. No special marks. During WWII russians did not use their own marking on Lend Lease small arms.

According to lend lease data 12977 pistols were supplied to Soviet
Union.But what is interesting that they never use it in combat. For example Tommy guns were used by Sherman crews.Tanks were equipped with that gun. But I have not found any info about usage of M1911a1 ( visiting many russian sourses). USA
supplied pistols directly to USSR. I own the gun which on my opinion was never used.Pictures I ll post later.

The Ithaca pistols were not being shipped in numerical serial number order at that time, so the shipment your pistol would have been in covers the time period of November 1943 to April 1944. There are 1000 pistols in the serial number range 1215XXX , so finding it in the shipping documents would be impossible.
